R 408.14439 Wire rope and chain.

Rule 4439. (1) A wire rope or chain on a crane, lift oR hoist used to lift or carry molten metal shall: (a) Be inspected weekly for wear or defects and shall be replaced if worn or defective. (b) Have a designed safety factor of not less than 8. (2) A wire rope shall have an independent wire rope core.
