R 408.17442 Using, covering, or protecting tools.

Rule 7442. (1) Chain saws that are specifically designed for firefighting operations to cut holes in roofs, floors, and walls shall be used where cutting operations are performed. If a chain saw is not in use, then the cutting teeth of the chain saw shall be covered to prevent inadvertent contact. (2) An axe or other sharp-edged or pointed tool shall be protected when stored or carried on the apparatus. A rounded tipped pike pole is excluded from the requirements of this subrule.
