Rule 2205. (1) A person shall not discharge without an authorization under R 323.2204.
(2) A person shall not discharge through a general purpose floor drain unless authorized
by R 323.2210(v) or under R 323.2215 or R 323.2218.
(3) A person shall not discharge wastewater originating from a structure within 200 feet
of an available public sanitary sewer system, except for a discharge of noncontact cooling
water or a discharge from a groundwater remediation activity. For sanitary sewage, an
available public sanitary sewer system is defined by section 12751(a) of Act No. 368 of
the Public Acts of 1978, as amended, being R333.12751(a) of the Michigan Compiled
Laws. For any other discharge, the department shall make a determination of availability
based on the ability of the public sanitary sewer system to treat the wastewater and the
costs associated with providing the treatment. Except for sanitary sewage, this subrule does
not apply to an existing discharge authorized under the provisions of part 31 at the time of
adoption of these rules.
