Rule 7. (1) "Department" means the department of environmental quality. (2) "Dose" means absorbed dose or dose equivalent as appropriate. (3) "Dose equivalent" means the absorbed dose in rads times certain modifying factors and is a quantity that expresses on a common scale for all radiation a measure of the postulated effect on a given organ from small amounts of radiation. The special unit of dose equivalent is the rem.
