ROAD TEST FOR RESTRICTED LICENSE FOR MEDICAL REASON
If an applicant is testing for a restricted driver's license for a medical reason as described in Minnesota Statutes, section 171.042 , the applicant must present authorization from the department authorizing the road test and stating the driving limitations. The commissioner shall authorize testing after receiving: A. a written statement from the applicant's parent or guardian that is signed in the presence of the commissioner or notarized, indicating a medical need; and B. a written doctor's statement indicating a need for a restricted medical license.
