706, DUCT AND AIR TRANSFER OPENINGS

IFC section 706.1 is amended by adding an exception to read: Exception: When approved by the fire code official, periodic testing and inspection in accordance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 is not required for inaccessible fire dampers, inaccessible smoke dampers, and inaccessible combination fire and smoke dampers. Inaccessible fire dampers, inaccessible smoke dampers, and inaccessible combination fire and smoke dampers shall be maintained in accordance with NFPA 80 and NFPA 105 and repaired or replaced where damaged or defective.
