SWIMMING POOLS

UPC section 813.1 is amended to read as follows: 813.1 General. Pipes carrying wastewater from swimming or wading pools, including pool drainage and backwash from filters, water from scum gutter drains and pool deck drains, shall be installed as an indirect waste. Pool deck drains need not be trapped and vented per section 803.1. Pool deck drain piping must be pitched at a minimum of 1/8 inch per foot for pipe sizes 3 inches and larger. Where a pump is used to discharge waste pool water to the drainage system, the pump discharge shall be installed as an indirect waste.
