NOTIFICATION FOR WELL SEALING
This part applies to the sealing of wells, including water supply, remedial, monitoring, temporary monitoring, and dewatering wells, as provided by Minnesota Statutes, sections 103I.231 , 103I.301 , and 103I.315 . This part does not apply to the sealing of borings. A. A well must not be sealed until the owner of the property where the well is located, the owner's agent, or a licensee or registrant submits notification of proposed sealing of the well to the commissioner. Notification must be on a form provided by the commissioner or in a format approved by the commissioner. The notification must be legible and must include the following information for each well: (1) the name and licensee number or registrant number; (2) the name, address, and telephone number of the well owner, and property owner if different; (3) the township number, range number, section and one quartile, and the property street address if assigned; and (4) identification of a multiple-cased well with an inside casing eight inches or larger in diameter. B. A new notification must be filed with the commissioner if a licensee or registrant other than the one listed on the original notification seals the well. C. The notification is valid for 18 months from the date filed.
