Kirkpatrick State Information Center 600 West Main Street Jefferson City, MO 65101 Dear Secretary Kander: This opinion letter responds to your request dated January 2, 2015, for our review under § 116.334, RSMo, of a proposed summary statement prepared for the petition submitted by Todd Jones regarding a proposed constitutional amendment to amend Article VIII of the Missouri Constitution (2016-007). The proposed summary statement is as follows: Shall the Missouri Constitution be amended to: • establish limits on campaign contributions by individuals or entities to political parties, political committees, or committees to elect candidates for state or judicial office; • prohibit individuals and entities from intentionally concealing the source of such contributions; • require corporations or labor organizations to meet certain requirements in order to make such contributions; and www.ago.mo.gov OP-20H>-0001 The Honorable Jason Kander Page 2 • provide a complaint process and penalties for any violations of this amendment?
