293.140. Escapement shafts, how equipped. — Any new escapement shaft constructed or opened for operation after the effective date of this chapter, shall be equipped with a substantial hoist or stairway. Such stairway shall be constructed at an angle not greater than forty-five degrees, and shall be provided with handrails and platform or landing at each turn of stairway. (L. 1959 S.B. 188 § 15)
