MACKEY, CFI STATE CHIEF DEPUTY FIRE MARSHAL DATE: APRIL 15, 1998 SUBJECT: SENATE BILL 2627 - A REVISION TO PRIVILEGE LICENSE FEES During the Mississippi Legislature's 1998 Regular Session, Senate Bill 2627 passed which amended Section 75-49-9 of the Mississippi Code of 1972. This revised the annual privilege license fees for the manufacturers, installer and/or transporters and dealers of manufactured homes and/or relocatable (modular) homes issued by the Manufactured Housing Division of the State Fire Marshal's Office, a Division of the Mississippi Department of Insurance. Effective July 1, 1998, the new fees shall be as follows under Section 75-49-9: "The original license fee and all annual renewals thereof shall be Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for manufacturing plants that build manufactured homes and Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for manufacturing plants that manufacture relocatable (modular) homes located within or without the State of Mississippi manufacturing and delivering homes for sale within the State of Mississippi and One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per manufactured home and/or relocatable (modular) home dealer location within the State of Mississippi. The licensing fee for a manufactured home and/or relocatable (modular) home independent contractor transporter or installer is One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each company sippi manufacturing and delivering homes for sale within the State of Mississippi and One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150.00) per manufactured home and/or relocatable (modular) home dealer location within the State of Mississippi. The licensing fee for a manufactured home and/or relocatable (modular) home independent contractor transporter or installer is One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each company. The fee for relocatable (modular) home plan review shall be Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per floor plan; however, this fee shall not apply to any relocatable (modular) home plan reviews completed before July 1, 1998. Except as otherwise provided in subsection (10) of this section, the license shall be valid for a period of one (1) year from the date of issuance, or until revoked as provided herein."
