Pursuant to Bulletin 2005-8, this registration was scheduled to cease on May 31, 2006. On April 26, 2006, the Bulletin 2005-8, as amended, was issued extending the emergency guidelines to May 31, 2007. The 2007 Mississippi Legislative term saw the passage of House Bill 1524, the Mississippi Public Adjusters Act ("Act"). This Act was signed by Governor Barbour on March 27, 2007, and is effective as of July 1, 2007. The Act establishes licensure requirements for public adjusters and sets forth certain guidelines and ethical requirements which must be met for public adjusters to operate in this state. As there will be lapse of time from when the registration set forth under Bulletin 2005-8, as amended, ends and the Act's effective date of July 1, 2007, the Commissioner of Insurance hereby sets forth the following in Bulletin 2007-3. All emergency public adjusters who are currently registered with the Department through May 31, 2007, pursuant to the provisions of Bulletin 2005-8, as amended, shall automatically have their registration period extended to July 31, 2007. Between July 1, 2007, and July 31, 2007, all public adjusters who intend to continue to work in Mississippi shall submit their license application pursuant to the provisions of the Act. usters who are currently registered with the Department through May 31, 2007, pursuant to the provisions of Bulletin 2005-8, as amended, shall automatically have their registration period extended to July 31, 2007. Information and application forms to apply for a public adjuster license shall be placed on the Department's website at www.doi.state.ms.us .
