Retention of Documents

Retention of Documents. The preneed establishment or its successor shall maintain a copy of all preneed contracts entered into by the establishment for a period of the lifetime of each contract and for two (2) years after the death of a contract insured. These documents shall be maintained on the premises of the establishment and shall be maintained in an auditable format. The Secretary of State's Office recommends that these records be kept indefinitely in electronic format.
