Electronic Verification of U.S. Citizenship or Immigration Status A. The Division of Medicaid attempts to verify U.S. citizenship or immigration status through electronic services including but not limited to: 1. The Social Security Administration (SSA), 2. Federal Agencies, 3. Department of Treasury, and 4. Department of Homeland Security. B. If the Division of Medicaid is unable to verify status through electronic services, then the Division of Medicaid attempts to verify U.S. citizenship or immigration status in accordance with Miss. Admin. Code, Title 23, Part 102, Rule 2.6. C. If the Division of Medicaid is unable to verify U.S. citizenship or immigration status through either method, but the applicant is otherwise eligible, the applicant will be approved for benefits for up to ninety (90) days as a reasonable period to provide acceptable documentary evidence of U.S. citizenship and identity. The ninety (90) day period does not include approval for any retroactive month(s).
