Patient Accounts. A. A nursing home patient account is a financial account set up by the nursing home for the convenience of the patient. B. These accounts are similar to a checking and/or savings account. The facility holds funds belonging to the patient for the patient’s use. C. For Medicaid purposes, a patient account is treated in the same manner as a checking or savings account.
