Monitoring Safeguards A. Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services (MDRS) case managers are required to provide each waiver person with written information regarding their rights as a waiver person at the initial assessment. B. Case managers must provide the persons information during the initial assessment regarding the Mississippi Vulnerable Person’s Act and phone numbers of when and who to call if abuse, neglect, or exploitation is alleged. C. All TBI/SCI providers and their employees must immediately report in writing to the Division of Medicaid Office of Long-Term Care, the Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS), and any other entity required by federal or state law, all suspected, alleged or reported instances the following: 1. Abuse, 2. Neglect, 3. Exploitation, 4. Suspicious death, or 5. Unauthorized use of restraints, seclusion, or restrictive interventions.
