First Aid Supply 1. A first aid supply shall be kept on-site and easily accessible to employees, but not in reach of the children. 2. A first aid supply shall be taken on all field trips and excursions and shall be easily accessible to employees, but not in reach of the children. 3. Medicine shall be kept out of the reach of the children. 4. All vehicles used by the facility in transporting children shall be equipped with a first aid kit. 5. It is recommended that first aid kits contain at a minimum the following items: scissors; tweezers; gauze pads; adhesive tape; thermometer; band-aids, assorted sizes; antibacterial ointment; insect-sting preparation; an antiseptic cleansing solution; triangular bandages; rubber gloves; protective eye wear; a protective face mask; and cold pack. The first aid kit, together with a first aid instruction manual which must be always kept with the . kit, shall be stored so that it is not accessible to children but is easily accessible to employees. 6. All first aid kits should be periodically inspected for contents. Depleted and out of date materials should be replaced. 7. Special attention should be exercised when utilizing first aid supplies or any medication for children who have allergies or other special medical needs. 8.
