Offenders Released from Federal Prison

Offenders Released from Federal Prison If the individual has recently been released from a federal prison, the MSOR receives a notification from that entity that the offender is moving to Mississippi. The MSOR notifies the sheriff of the proposed county of residence of the offender’s intent to relocate to that county and also sends a letter to the offender informing him of the requirements to register. The sheriff is responsible for registering the offender according to the procedures in this section.
