AFIS

AFIS This Unit maintains the Automated Fingerprint Identification System. Fingerprints from arrest records are maintained in this system, which provides fingerprint-based identification linking arrests to prior criminal history records. The personnel in this unit also fingerprint individuals. This system is interfaced with the FBI’s AFIS system. Records passed to the IAFIS are automatically indexed in III.
