Juvenile Records Policy Miss. Code Ann. § 45-27-9 requires all criminal justice agencies to submit to the CIC information on persons arrested or taken into custody for felonies and certain misdemeanors. Records involving juveniles and the contents thereof shall be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed except as provided in Miss. Code Ann. § 43-21-261. However, the following arrests/crimes are maintained in the Center’s database even if committed by a juvenile: a. crimes punishable under state or federal law by life imprisonment or death, and 2. offenses committed by a child on or after his seventeenth birthday where such offenses would be a felony if committed by an adult. Statutory Authority: Miss. Code Ann. § 45- 27-9 and 43-21-261.
