Salvage Vehicles

Before a used motor vehicle parts dealer or scrap metal processor may purchase or receive a motor vehicle for the purpose of scrapping, dismantling, or destroying the vehicle, the used motor vehicle parts dealer or scrap metal processor must verify the absence of any lien on the motor vehicle by utilizing the Department’s automated statewide motor vehicle registration system.
