Purpose

Purpose. The purpose of the CDBG Economic Development Public Improvements category is to assist units of local government in the funding of eligible infrastructure improvements in the support of better paying private sector jobs; Projects having retained jobs and those creating public sector jobs shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and if funds are limited, these type projects will have a lower priority for funding. The use of these funds is directly associated with the creation or retention of jobs of which at least 51% must be low- and moderate-income. Each project will be reviewed for eligibility on a case-by-case basis.
