PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION AND APPROVAL PROCESS MDEQ is notifying the public of the availability of this document by publishing a Public Notice in a statewide newspaper. Additionally, MDEQ sends notices of availability to individuals and organizations included on the TMDL email distribution list. The public is invited to comment on the content of this document. The Public Notice period is from March 13, 2026, to April 13, 2026. Comments will be accepted by mail, electronic submission, and at the Public Hearing held at the end of the public comment period on April 13th at 2:00 p.m. The final document will be submitted to the Mississippi Commission on Environmental Quality for adoption in May. Once adopted by the Commission, the 2026 §303(d) List will be submitted to EPA Region 4 for final approval. The Mississippi 2026 §303(d) List of Impaired Water Bodies will then be filed with the Mississippi Secretary of State in compliance with state law.
