Permits issued to new applicants must include information on the operations site,
initial roster of vehicles, and initial proposed list of drivers. The initial issuance of
permit(s) to the new applicant requires visit of the proposed operations site by
BEMS inspectors, inspection of proposed vehicles, and processing of proposed
driver lists as prescribed in this subchapter. The State EMS Director must approve
the initial request for Non-emergency Medical Transport Vehicle Permit(s).
Thereafter, permits may be issued to a recognized operator on-site. On-site
vehicle inspections may be offered at advertised locations or on-site at the
operation site. Non-emergency medical transport vehicles shall display a placard
on the exterior of each door and exterior rear of the vehicle a visible placard,
visible from other vehicles, which states, specifically: NON-EMERGENCY
MEDICAL TRANSPORT VEHICLE – THIS SERVICE DOES NOT PROVIDE
MEDICAL CARE.
