General Information Requirements. A. Purpose, Scope and Applicability (1) The purpose of these regulations is to establish minimum State criteria under the Mississippi Solid Waste Law, as amended, for all solid waste management facilities. These minimum State criteria ensure the protection of human health and the environment. Statutory authority for these regulations includes Sections 17-17- 27, 17-17-213, 17-17-229, 17-17-231, 21-27-207, and 49-17-17, Mississippi Code Annotated. (2) Rules 1.2 and 1.3 of these regulations apply to all solid waste management facilities as described therein, unless otherwise specified or excluded in paragraph B. of this rule. (3)
