General Intent

General Intent. The purpose of these Regulations is to provide for the certification and regulation of persons installing, altering, testing, and permanently closing underground storage tank (UST) systems which contain regulated substances. These regulations are promulgated to assure that UST systems are being installed, altered, tested, and permanently closed in a manner which will not cause or contribute to releases of regulated substances as defined in Section 49-17-403, Mississippi Annotated Code of 1972, and will protect the environment, the public health, safety, and welfare.
