Residents of Institution

Residents of Institution. A. Residents of public institutions who apply jointly for SSI and SNAP benefits prior to their release will not be considered categorically eligible. B. MDHS will only determine such residents as categorically eligible when SSA makes a final SSI eligibility determination and after the individual has been released from the institution.
