General. MDHS has received federal approval to implement ESAP, a demonstration project, which is designed to simplify the SNAP application process for households whose members are entirely sixty-five years of age or older. The goal of the project is to promote SNAP enrollment among eligible elderly citizens by providing a simpler method of applying for and maintaining eligibility for SNAP benefits.
