Upon receiving a report of a vulnerable person in need or potentially in need of protective services, an investigation shall be initiated within the following time frames and a preliminary report made to the office of the Attorney General (§43-47-7 and §43-47-9): Criteria Time from Reporting to Initiation of Investigation Vulnerable person is not in immediate danger (Priority II cases) 72 hours Vulnerable person is in immediate danger (Priority I cases) 48 hours
