Prudent and Reasonable Parenting – Prudent and Reasonable Parenting includes but not limited to: 1. The Relative/Fictive Kin foster parent must communicate decisions made on the child’s behalf with their assigned MDCPS specialist, to include but no be limited to traveling in or out of state, medical concerns, etc. 2. Foster children should be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities that are in their best interests. 3. Relative/Fictive Kin foster parents should provide for the safety and health of the child and encourage the emotional and developmental growth of the child. 4. Visitation with their birth parents or other family members must be coordinated with their assigned MDCPS specialist to keep an account of said visits.
