Miss. Code Ann. § 49-2-85

The following words and phrases when used in Sections 49-2-81 through 49-2-87 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (a) “ Department ” means the Department of Environmental Quality. (b) “ Home-generated medical sharp ” means a sharp used by an individual at home. (c) “ Medical sharp ” means a needle, syringe, lancet or other sharp object used to penetrate the skin for medical testing or for delivery of medication.
