ARM 10.54.3231. BENCHMARK FOR LITERATURE CONTENT STANDARD 3 FOR END OF GRADE 4

(1) The benchmark for literature content standard 3 for a student at the end of grade 4 is the ability to: (a) select a variety of literary works for purposes of discovery, appreciation, and enjoyment; (b) select print/non-print works based upon reflection of prior literary experiences (e.g., author, subject, theme, genre) ; and (c) demonstrate the understanding that the purposes of experiencing literary works include personal satisfaction and the development of lifelong literature appreciation.
