ARM 10.54.4021. BENCHMARK FOR MATHEMATICS CONTENT STANDARD 2 FOR END OF GRADE 4

(1) The benchmark for mathematics content standard 2 for a student at the end of grade 4 is the ability to: (a) exhibit connections between the concrete and symbolic representation of a problem or concept; (b) use the number system by counting, grouping, and applying place value concepts; (c) model, explain, and use basic facts, the operations of addition and subtraction of whole numbers, and mental mathematics; (d) model and explain multiplication and division of whole numbers; and (e) model and explain part/whole relationships in everyday situations.
