Number 26-B-12 TO: ALL INSURANCE COMPANIES WRITING PROPERTY & CASUALTY INSURANCE COVERAGE IN NORTH CAROLINA FROM: MIKE CAUSEY, COMMISSIONER OF INSURANCE DATE: September 10, 2026 SUBJECT: LIABILITY DATA CALL – COVERAGE FOR CHILDCARE PROVIDERS The purpose of this bulletin is to inform your company of an NCDOI data call regarding liability insurance for childcare centers and in-home childcare. Any company that has collected premium for general liability, errors and omissions, directors and officers, or sexual abuse and molestation coverage in the state of North Carolina for childcare centers and/or in home childcare from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2025 must complete this data call. This applies to stand-alone policies as well as coverage provided through homeowner policy endorsements or umbrella policies. No response is required from all other companies. Since the call only requires the direct data, companies that only provide reinsurance coverage do not need to comply with this call. This data call applies to all licensed property & casualty insurers and authorized surplus line insurers.
