12 NCAC 10B .2103. MINIMUM TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

In addition to conducting Annual Firearms Qualification, as prescribed in 12 NCAC 10B .2104, Specialized Firearms Instructors shall provide instruction on the following specified topics: (1) Use of Force: the authority to use deadly force including relevant case law and materials. (2) Safety: (a) Range rules and regulations; (b) Handling of a firearm; and (c) Malfunctions. (3) Review of Basic Marksmanship Fundamentals: (a) Grip, stance, breath control, trigger press, and trigger reset; (b) Sight alignment and sight picture; and (c) Nomenclature. (4) Operation and Maintenance of all agency-authorized weapons.
