Recipients living out of state

An individual who receives assistance is free to travel without a loss of eligibility so long as the
individual remains a resident of the state. An individual remains a resident of the state when absent
from the state for brief periods provided the individual returns to the state by the last day of the month
following the month the individual left. An individual temporarily living out of state who remains a
resident of North Dakota is subject to the same standards and procedures for eligibility determinations
and budgeting as a similarly situated individual present in the state.
