Foster care - Placements

The child-placing agency shall create and maintain written policy outlining how the child-placing agency will evaluate placement decisions. The evaluation must consider initial and ongoing assessment of the appropriateness of the placement. The evaluation must include: 1. The identification of the appropriate foster care provider to meet the child's needs; 2. The child's view of the placement; 3. The foster care provider's commitment to the child's best interests; 4. The foster care provider's ability and willingness to accept and support the biological family; and 5. Evidence that the placement supports maintaining family and sibling connections, visitation, educational, religious, spiritual, and cultural needs.
