54-12-04.1. Attorney general to make investigation on Indian reservation - Expenses The attorney general may make a full and complete investigation of any complaint alleging the deprivation of any constitutional, civil, or legal right of an individual residing on an Indian reservation upon the written request of the state's attorney of the county of residence of the aggrieved individual. The attorney general may conduct and take full charge of any criminal prosecution that results from the investigation. The necessary expenses incurred in making the investigation or in prosecuting any resulting case, as determined by the attorney general, must be allowed and paid by the county in which the investigation was requested in the same manner in which claims against the county are allowed and paid.
