54-59-04. Duties of chief information officer The chief information officer shall: 1. Administer the department. 2. Employ any personnel determined to be necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the department and duties as prescribed by law. 3. Fix the salaries of all employees within the department, within the limits of legislative appropriation. All personnel within the department are entitled to actual and necessary travel expenses at the same rate as for other employees of the state.
