54-68-11. Attorney general - Counsel - Bureau of criminal investigation - Primary authority for investigations. 1. The attorney general may act as legal counsel in any particular investigation or proceeding under section 54-12-02. The attorney general shall appear and defend any officer or employee of the office and any member of the review board in any action founded on an act or omission arising out of performance of an official duty. 2. In accordance with chapter 54-12, the attorney general and bureau of criminal investigation have primary authority to investigate criminal cases related to a guardianship or conservatorship.
