57-15-19.5. Township funding for law enforcement - Authorization - Cooperation with other political subdivisions. The electors of an organized township may authorize the township to provide funding from revenues derived from its general fund levy authority for the purpose of hiring law enforcement personnel. In providing for law enforcement services, the board of supervisors may cooperate with one or more additional townships, with a city, or with the county in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54-40.
