Repealed 1972. Laws 1972, LB 302, sec. 1. Adopted in 1875. The subject matter of this section was transferred to Section 11. The repealed language read, “If the office of auditor of public accounts, treasurer, secretary of state, attorney general, commissioner of public lands and buildings, or superintendent of public instruction, shall be vacated by death, resignation, or otherwise, it shall be the duty of the governor to fill the same by appointment, and the appointee shall hold his office until his successor shall be elected and qualified in such manner as may be provided by law.”
