030. APPLICATION FOR USE OF HIGHER ASSIGNED PROTECTION FACTORS. The licensee must obtain authorization from the Department before using assigned protection factors in excess of those specified in Appendix 4-A. 030.01 DESCRIPTION OF THE SITUATION. An application to use protection factors in excess of those specified in Appendix 4-A must describe the situation for which a need exists for higher protection factors. 030.02 CONDITIONS OF USE. An application to use protection factors in excess of those specified in Appendix 4-A must demonstrate that the respiratory protection equipment provides these higher protection factors under the proposed conditions of use.
