180 NAC 7-029. POSSESSION, USE, AND CALIBRATION OF INSTRUMENTS USED TO MEASURE THE ACTIVITY OF UNSEALED RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

029. POSSESSION, USE, AND CALIBRATION OF INSTRUMENTS USED TO MEASURE THE ACTIVITY OF UNSEALED RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL. To perform direct measurements according to 180 NAC 7-031, a licensee must: (A) Possess and use instrumentation to measure the activity of unsealed radioactive material before administration to each patient or human research subject;(B) Calibrate the instrumentation according to nationally recognized standards or the manufacturer’s instructions. The calibrations must, at minimum and as appropriate to demonstrate proper operation of the instrument, test for: (i) Constancy;(ii) Linearity;(iii) Accuracy; and(iv) Geometry dependence; and (C) Retain a record of each instrument test required by 180 NAC 7-029 according to 180 NAC 7-091.
