Rogers, Insurance Commissioner RE: TRICARE Supplemental Insurance TRICARE (formerly CHAMPUS) supplemental coverage is a compliment to the federal TRICARE program and does not meet the New Hampshire minimum standards for accident and health insurance policies. The New Hampshire Insurance Commissioner, pursuant to authority granted under N.H Rev. Stat. Ann. §415-A.III, finds, however, that it is in the public interest to review TRICARE supplemental coverage filings and apply appropriate standards. Therefore, filings will be required to meet the standards contained in N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. §§ 415:1, 415:2, 415:3, 415:5, 415-A and 415:18.I and additional statutes and regulations as they may apply. The Department will require that insurers include as an attachment to an approved policy a notice to the applicant as follows: NOTICE: This policy form has been reviewed by the New Hampshire Insurance Department. It is supplemental to the federal Tricare program and, as such, does not meet, nor is it required to meet, the New Hampshire minimum standards for accident and health insurance. Submissions will be reviewed for compliance with the above.
