The New Hampshire Insurance Department issues this alert to brokers
and broker associations warning against an unlicensed agent selling sham
insurance purporting to cover entertainment, sporting and other special events.
It is also believed that this individual and related entities are attempting to sell
other types of nonexistent coverage.
Enclosed is a press release issued by the California Department of
Insurance warning against doing insurance business with Joseph Hall, III,
also known as Harbour Insurance, Harbour Entertainment & Sports,
Harbour Protective Insurance Services, Harbour Insurance, Harbour
Insurance Management, and harbourinsurance.com. Neither Mr. Hall, nor
any of the Harbour entities, are licensed to do an insurance business of any
type in the State of New Hampshire.
Insurance regulators nationwide are coordinating efforts and
carrying out investigations to ensure consumers are not defrauded. New
Hampshire consumers are potentially at risk, as a New Hampshire insured has
recently been defrauded when special event coverage, later determined to be
nonexistent, was purchased from a Hall entity through a Massachusetts
broker.
Broker organizations are asked to contact their membership, particularly
those members known to broker special event coverage, to inform them of this
alert.
If you have any information regarding the insurance activities of Joseph
Hall, or any of the above entities, in the State of New Hampshire, please
contact John Talley, Enforcement Examiner, State of New Hampshire
Insurance Department, at 603-271-2261.
