Sevigny Commissioner Alex Feldvebel Deputy Commissioner NOTICE REGARDING CHANGES TO PRODUCER AND ADJUSTER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS Effective July 11, 2008 NHRSA 402-J (Producer Licensing) and NHRSA 402-B (Adjuster Licensing) have been amended. You are encouraged to access the full text of the bills (House Bills 385 and 1246) by accessing these legislative changes from the State of NH website, www.nh.gov. This notice is intended to highlight changes affecting those in the insurance Producer and Adjuster licensing communities and is not intended as a legal interpretation of the statutes. NHRSA 402-B (Adjuster Licensing) • Amended to eliminate the requirement for applicants for Adjuster licenses to provide three affidavits of character as a part of their application. • Amended to include the definition of Adjuster. It specifies licensing requirements for Property & Casualty and Workers’ Compensation Adjusters only. Therefore, NH is no longer going to issue licenses to adjusters who are limited to adjusting Life and/or Accident & Health claims. The licensing exams for these lines of authority have been eliminated. Affected individuals will be notified directly by the department. Revised Adjuster applications will soon be available on our website. NHRSA 402-J (Producer Licensing) • Amended to remove completion of an approved pre-licensing course as a requirement for licensing. Prospective producers are highly encouraged to take one of the approved courses on the list available from the department website.
