[Related Statewide Rules 1-090 and 5-115 NMRA] Individuals appearing in court or in a judge’s office or chambers shall conduct themselves in a manner befitting the dignity of the court. Under no circumstances shall anyone disrupt the court proceedings or court operations. Attorneys, their employees, law clerks, runners, law students, and court employees appearing in court or in a judge’s office or chambers shall dress in a manner befitting the dignity of the court. The 2025 amendment, approved by Supreme Court Order No. S-1-RCR-2024-00120, effective December 31, 2025, removed a provision requiring all portable telephones, pagers, and beepers to be turned off during court proceedings, and added a provision prohibiting the disruption of court proceedings or court operations; after “dignity of the court”, deleted “Portable telephones, pagers, and beepers shall be turned off.” and added “Under no circumstances shall anyone disrupt the court proceedings or court operations”.
