Subsequent to the declaration, the Superintendent of Insurance issued Bulletin 2022-012, requiring companies to submit monthly reports of claims information associated with the wildfire events taking place in 2022. While compliance with Bulletin 2022-012 has generally been commendable, some companies have missed one or more monthly reports. By way of this Bulletin, the Office of Superintendent of Insurance would like to remind companies of the requirement to submit wildfirerelated claims data per the original Bulletin. As stated in Bulletin 2022-012, the January 15th, 2023 submission containing cumulative claims data as of December 31, 2022 will be the last report of the wildfire claims data, so it is especially important that all companies make a timely submission in order to ensure a complete and accurate dataset and avoid additional data calls on this subject in the future. The data reporting requirements remain the same, and companies can reference the requirements and submission instructions in Bulletin 2022-012, issued on June 16, 2022. Failure to submit a report may result in the imposition of fines.
