When A Mandatory Count Of Eight Is Required

A. In the event that one unarmed combatant is knocked-down, the referee shall give a mandatory 8- count. A unarmed combatant shall be deemed “down” when any part of his body, except his feet, is on the floor or he is hanging helplessly over or on the ropes. 15.6.5 NMAC 4 B. Should a contestant slip, or fall down, or be pushed, he shall be ordered to his feet immediately. Failure to rise may subject him to disqualification.
